What the contract involves

The contract consists of an agreement document, the project description and the Research Council’s General Terms and Conditions for R&D Projects.

General terms and conditions as of 1 January 2021:

The contract is sent to you together with our formal letter of notification. There is a template used for all contracts, which must incorporate the following documents as a minimum:

  • An agreement document: this describes the specific conditions associated with the allocation, such as:
    • project objectives;

    • project management;

    • budget;

    • financing;

    • progress plan;

    • reporting requirements.

  • The project description: this has been submitted together with the final version of the grant application, after the revision process is completed;

  • The General Terms and Conditions for R&D Projects: these are the Research Council’s standard terms and conditions and are applicable to all R&D projects, unless otherwise specifically agreed on.

In the event that there is conflict between the documents, the agreement document will take precedence.

Adjustments to the General Terms and Conditions

The Research Council adjusts the General Terms and Conditions for R&D projects when this is necessary. The version of the General Terms and Conditions that was in force when you applied for funding will be applicable for your entire project period.
