All FRIPRO applications are assessed by a panel of peer reviewers before the Portfolio Board for Ground-breaking Research decides whether to award funding to each application or not. The portfolio board does this approximately every two months for all applications that have been peer-reviewed.

Some changes require the Research Council's approval, while other changes are only taken into account. We process applications for project changes as they are received. Just before and after the turn of the year, we receive many applications for project changes, and the processing time may be longer than usual.

How we process Researcher Project applications

As soon as a call is ended, we register the applications and you get an e-mail with your project number. Then the Research Council conducts a preliminary administrative review of the applications received. Applications that meet the requirements are forwarded to peer review. The portfolio boards decide which proposals are granted funding and all applicants are informed of the outcome on My RCN web.
