Raw Materials Partnership for the Green and Digital Transition (RAMP)
International Joint Call for Research and Innovation on Sustainable Supply and Use of Raw Materials, Including Value Creation and Cumulative Effects
The call is relevant for those with project ideas within raw materials value chains —from extraction and processing to recycling, circular economy, and digitalisation —who wish to collaborate internationally with research and/or industry partners. Projects may also include issues from related disciplines where this strengthens the overall value chains. Applicants are particularly encouraged to address cumulative effects, including environmental, societal, and economic impacts across sectors and activities.
Projects eligible for funding under this call must fall within at least one of the following areas:
- Geology, including mapping, understanding, and assessment of mineral resources
- Nature and environment, including environmental impact, biodiversity considerations, circularity, tailings management, and sustainability
- Technology and processes, for example development and improvement of extraction, processing, and refining technologies; links to European value chains and integration between mineral resources and downstream processing, and vice versa
- Mineral-related societal challenges, including issues related to social acceptance, land use, value chains, regulations, and coexistence with other societal interests; in particular regulatory frameworks, legal aspects, financing, and value distribution principles; Indigenous rights and synergies with other similar infrastructure-related societal challenges
