Calls through Chips Joint Undertaking (former KDT) 2024

Norwegian participation in Chips JU Non Initiative Calls 2024 is co-funded by the Research Council of Norway

Chips JU support cross-boundary semiconductor technology research and development, innovation and development and use of manufacturing capabilities.

Chips is a European partnership under Horizon Europe with a focus on electronic components, semiconductor technology and system technologies.

The European Commission, industry organizations and participating countries develop the work program. Chip's JU work program for 2024 has several calls where Norway co-finances Norwegian participants. The first call has an application deadline 14 May 2024.

Calls with Norwegian co-financing have all been announced under Horizon Europe. On the website of Chips JU you will find these calls under "non-initiative Calls 2024".

Planned Calls in 2024:

  • Global call according to SRIA 2024 (IA)
  • Focus topic on “High Performance RISC-V Automotive Processors supporting SDV”
  • Focus topic on "Service Oriented Framework for the Software Defined Vehicle of the future"
  • Global call according to SRIA 2023 (RIA)
  • Focus topic on “Sustainable and greener manufacturing”
  • Joint call with Korea on Heterogeneous integration and neuromorphic computing technologies for future semiconductor components and systems

Norway does not prioritize the national co-financing between calls.

It is important to read the "National eligibility guidelines for Norway". These describe several requirements, including that all projects must have at least one Norwegian company as a partner. It is also important to fill out the form "Template for National Part".

National funding will be subject to conditions in current state aid rules. See more details at: State aid (forskningsradet.no).
