Funding for Researcher Project is available annualy. Approved research organisations can apply for funding for Researcher Project.
These are the calls for proposals for Researcher Project for the next application submission deadline 10 February 2021 (English calls will be published in the beginning of October 2020):

- Three-year Researcher Project with International Mobility
- Large-scale Interdisciplinary Researcher Project
Funding is intended to support scientific renewal and development in research that can help to advance the international research front.
Funding is announced through four calls for proposals, where we want to reach scientists at different stages of their career, promote internationalisation and create groundbreaking research.
Facts about Researcher Project for Scientific Renewal
This call for proposals is equivalent to what until 2019 was called a Researcher Project and was announced through a number of RCN programs and activities. The aim is to support scientific renewal and development in research that can help to advance the international research front. This call is therefore targeted towards researchers who have demonstrated the ability to conduct research of high scientific quality.

Facts about Researcher Project for Young Research Talents
Funding is intended to give talented young researchers under the age of 40 in all disciplines and research areas the opportunity to pursue their own research ideas and lead a research project. This call is targeted towards researchers in the early stages of their careers, 2–7 years after defence of an approved doctorate, who have demonstrated the potential to conduct research of high scientific quality.

Facts about Three-year Researcher Project with International Mobility
The purpose of this call is to increase international mobility and promote career development among researchers at an early stage in their careers, as well as to facilitate knowledge transfer to research groups in Norway. This call is targeted towards researchers at the post-doctoral level who are to spend two years at a research organisation abroad and the third year at a research organisation in Norway.

The purpose of this call is to strengthen, ground-breaking research of high scientific quality through interdisciplinary collaboration, and to advance the research front. Addressing the societal challenges of today and tomorrow calls for radical leaps in knowledge.
