For all projects involving partners, the Project Owner is required to sign collaboration agreements with the relevant partners by at the latest three months after receiving the contract documents from the Research Council.

It is only possible to include visiting researcher stays in applications where this is specified in the call text. Note that we do not have a separate call for proposals for visiting researchers.

The Research Council of Norway and the European Commission are introducing a Gender Equality Plan (GEP) requirement at the organisational level for applicants and partners that must be met when the grant agreement is signed. This applies to calls for proposals with a deadline for applications in 2022 or later. The requirement does not apply to the business sector, special interest organisations or the non-profit sector.

In the course of 2026, the Research Council of Norway will be more in alignment with the EU's criteria and grading scale and make changes to the relevance assessment.

All applicants must familiarise themselves with the general requirements for the application. A detailed description of these and other application requirements can be found in the call for proposals and in the associated application form. Applications that do not meet the requirements set out in the call will be rejected.
