About the event

Doctoral Networks (DN) is a highly popular action which finances training networks for doctoral candidates from all over the globe. The projects have a duration of four to five years and provide financing of up to 15 doctoral candidates for three years. The MSCA has a budget for this purpose of 593 million euro, while the RAISE pilot has a separate budget of 30 million euro.

DNs can be of three types: European Standard Networks, European Joint Doctorates (joint degrees), and European Industrial Doctorates (industrial/public PhDs).

MSCA DN is open to all fields of study and has no thematic priorities. This makes them highly sought after, and therefore the competition is fierce. For this reason, we recommend prospective participants/supervisors in Doctoral Networks to attend this webinar. It increases the chances of your DN receiving funding.

RAISE Doctoral Networks are identical to the MSCA DNs but are a part of the EU pilot for the Resource for Artificial Intelligence Science in Europe (RAISE). RAISE DNs will train doctoral candidates in and for AI in science.

The call for 2026 opens on 28 May and has an application deadline of 24 November 2026.

In the webinar, you will receive an introduction to the proposal requirements and criteria for selection. We will also have a DN coordinator who received funding a couple of years ago share their experiences.

All information about the call will be available on the Funding & Tenders Portal when the call opens.

The webinar will be held in English.
