Pre- announcement: The Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership’s (SBEP) third joint transnational call
This EU Partnership aims to boost the transformation needed towards a climate-neutral, sustainable, productive, and competitive blue economy by 2030 while creating and supporting the conditions for a sustainable ocean for the people by 2050. This third SBEP Co-funded call aims to support transnational research and innovation projects addressing one of the 5 priority areas below:
- Digital Twins of the Ocean (DTOs) at sub-basin scale
- Transitioning the blue economy sectors, and the development of the coexistence and the marine multi-use infrastructures
- Climate-Smart Planning and managing sea-uses at the regional level
- Blue Bioresources; sustainable fisheries and aquaculture, and new bio-based product
- Resilient Coastal Communities and Businesses
In this call applicants from eligible Norwegian institutions can apply to the three following priority areas:
- Climate-Smart Planning and managing sea-uses at the regional level
- Blue Bioresources; sustainable fisheries and aquaculture, and new bio-based product
- Resilient Coastal Communities and Businesses
The Research Council of Norway will not prioritize projects that directly target research and development related to the following industry sectors:
- Industrial activity of deep-sea mining.
- Energy and maritime (shipping) sectors.
Norway (RCN) is participating in the call with 2.750.000 euros. The RCN will fund up to 280.000 euro per project proposal. In addition, the RCN may fund up to 50.000 euro per project with a project manager (coordinator) from a Norwegian research organization.
