Guidelines for use of funding

The general principles guiding the scheme for Research Funding for Agriculture and the Food Industry (Foundation for Research Levy on Agricultural Products (FFL) and the Agricultural Agreement Research Fund (JA)) involve follow-up of the agricultural policy objectives set out in the white paper on agricultural and food policy (in Norwegian only: Endring og utvikling – En fremtidsrettet jordbruksproduksjon (Meld. St. 11 (2016–2017)) PDF - 8,7 MB and in the recommendation PDF - 988 KB (in Norwegian only) concerning the white paper.

The Board of the Agricultural Agreement Research Fund of Norway allocates funding for research activities in keeping with the annual Agricultural Agreement. The purpose of the research funding is to develop new knowledge for the agricultural and food sector and generate benefits for users in the short and long term.

The Foundation for Research Levy on Agricultural Products was established pursuant to the Act relating to research duties on agricultural products (in Norwegian only). The board of the foundation is responsible for administering research funding resulting from the research duties levied on Norwegian-produced and imported agricultural products. Research activities must be of relevance for the products on which research duties are levied, and the research must encompass the entire food value chain.
