The report describes and documents the Norwegian research and innovation system:

The report is based upon the results from the national R&D and Innovation surveys as well as other statistics and studies. Time series and international data are also included.

The purpose of the report is to present an overall description for non-Norwegian readers of the status of Norwegian activity in research and experimental development, higher education, science and technology.


Finland: Number of doctorate degrees fell by 7 per cent 2016-2017

Statistics Finland's has released statistics on education which show that 31,000 university degrees were completed in 2017, almost 900 fewer than in the previous year.

Finland: Innovation activity more widespread 2014 to 2016

Finnish enterprises reported innovation activity more frequently than before in 2014 to 2016. Altogether, 65 per cent of the surveyed enterprises had had innovation activity.

OECD MSTI 2017-2: New update of the OECD R&D Statistics

The MSTI database (Main Science and Technology Indicators) provides a set of indicators that reflect the level and structure of the efforts undertaken by OECD Member countries and some non-member economies in the field of science and technology.
