Smart, Green and Integrated Transport

The aim of Societal Challenge 4: Smart, Green and Integrated Transport is to boost the competitiveness of the European transport industries and develop a European transport system that is resource-efficient, climate- and environment-friendly, safe and seamless and that benefits all citizens, the economy and society.

The Transport Challenge has a budget of over EUR 6 billion for the 2014–2020 period and is designed to help to achieve four key objectives:

1. Resource efficient transport that respects the environment;
2. Better mobility, less congestion, more safety and security;
3. Global leadership for the European transport industry;
4. Socio-economic and behavioural research and forward-looking activities for policymaking.

These objectives and activities are described in greater detail on the webpages for Societal Challenge 4: Smart, Green and Integrated Transport on the H2020 website, where there is also a link to the updated work programme.
