Industrial Leadership

Industrial Leadership is one of the three pillars of Horizon 2020, and is targeted towards making Europe a more attractive place for industry.

This will be achieved by:

  • strategic investments in enabling and industrial technologies;
  • easier access to risk finance;
  • support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with significant growth potential.

  • Key Enabling Technologies (KETs):
    • micro- and nano-electronics and photonics;
    • nanotechnologies;
    • advanced materials;
    • biotechnology;
    • advanced manufacturing and processing.

EU-funded projects under the programme Leadership in Enabling and Industrial Technologies (LEIT) will be results-oriented, with the development of advanced technology and commercial implementation as essential requirements.

Joint Technology Initiatives (JTI) and Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) are important tools for implementing technological roadmaps under the LEIT programme.
