Agreement on Nordic Collaboration on Genome Research

The Nordic collaboration on functional genomics research has been enhanced as a result of an agreement between FUGE (Norway's national research programme on functional genomics) and the Swedish research programme SWEGENE and the Wallenberg Consortium North (WCN) initiative.

The agreement enables Norwegian and Swedish researchers to utilise technological resources established under the auspices of programmes in each other's countries on the same terms as national researchers.

The technology resources of SWEGENE, WCN and FUGE comprise 11 technology platforms in Norway and 20 resource centres and technology platforms in Sweden, and provide researchers with access to advanced technology at optimal prices.

The agreement is part of an ongoing effort to strengthen Nordic collaboration within the field of functional genomics.
