Funding is intended to contribute to increased R&D activity in service industries that are currently under-represented in the Research Council's trade and industry portfolio: tourism, cultural industries, finance and retail.

Funding may be sought for support for all forms of activities that contribute to strengthening coordination, planning and networks with the aim of developing and strengthening R&D activity.

The purpose is to establish collaboration to seek support for R&D projects at a later date, either through the call for proposals for Innovation Project for the industrial sector in 2020 or the thematic Collaborative and Knowledge-building Project call for proposals for the application deadline 18 November 2020 (tba). This call is also open for grant applications for activities for more long-term mobilisation for upcoming application deadlines in 2021.
