ROMFORSKNING – Programme on Space Research
The ROMFORSKNING programme provides funding for basic space research designed to describe and understand space phenomena and to show, through Earth observation from satellites, how physical, chemical and geological processes affect Earth as a planet. The ROMFORSKNING programme is also designed to promote the development of a new generation of space researchers.
ROMFORSKNING work programme
The work programme provides an overview of:
- challenges, objectives and priorities;
- anticipated results, impacts and societal outcomes;
- available resources and budget.
See: ROMFORSKNING work programme (pdf) (abstract in English).
The ROMFORSK programme will not be issuing a call for proposals in 2020.

International space organisations and research infrastructures
Norway contributes significant funding to international space organisations and relevant research infrastructures such as the European Space Agency (ESA), the European Incoherent SCATter (EISCAT) Scientific Association and the Nordic Optical Telescope (NOT). The ROMFORSKNING programme is designed to enable Norwegian researchers to take advantage of opportunities within these organisations and infrastructures.
