About Young Researchers

The Young Researchers competition is a research competition for young people that the Research Council of Norway organizes every year.

Young researchers are Norway's oldest research competition for young people. For over 50 years, young people from all over the country have participated. Around 200 projects participate each year.

The Young Researchers competition was started in 1968 by the Association of Young Researchers.

Provides international opportunities

The Young Researchers competition is part of an international network and has the opportunity to qualify Norwegian participants for major international competitions and research seminars for young people. Every year we send participants to the European Union Contest for Young Scientist and the International Science and Engineering Fair in the United States.
