(Photo: Sverre Chr. Both research and innovation

The evaluation panel assessed the scholarly publications and contributions to knowledge development in the field of the programmes, and recommended that the two should be combined. It is this recommendation the research board has decided to follow.

Jesper Simonsen, Executive Director of the Division for Society and Health, believes that combining the two educational programmes increases the potential for strategic action. Organisation as a single programme will also improve links between strategic basic research, applied research and innovation, and will help to improve cooperation, increase task-sharing and promote better targeting of resources in the field.
