The closing date for submission of applications for this call is 5 April 2019. A new call for proposals with new guidelines and requirements will be available in May.

Amount of funding presumed available for this call for proposals:

The VAM programme has set aside NOK 1 million annually for Personal Overseas Research Grants and Personal Visiting Researcher Grants.

Guidelines and important considerations relevant to all types of applications in this call for proposals:

The Norwegian-language call for proposals is the legally binding version.

All projects under the programme are encouraged to draw up and implement plans for international research cooperation. As far as possible, all projects should incorporate international partners, participation in international networks and stays at research institutions abroad during the project period. In general, internationalisation measures are already supported by ordinary project funding. The programme board wishes to give projects the opportunity to develop and further strengthen international cooperation during the project period by providing special funding to enable Norwegian researchers and research fellows to work in international research groups and international researchers to work in Norwegian research groups. This call for proposals for Personal Overseas Research Grants or Personal Visiting Researcher Grants has an open-ended application deadline, i.e. funding may be sought throughout the year. Projects are encouraged to establish cooperation with researchers and research groups outside of the Nordic region/EU/Europe.

Grants may only be sought by project managers funded under the VAM programme. The project number of the currently ongoing project must be stated in the grant application.
