Guidelines and important considerations relevant to all types of applications in this call for proposals:

The Norwegian-language call for proposals is the legally binding version.

Norwegian research communities are invited to apply for funding towards visits to Norway for top North American researchers within the educational sciences for the purpose of research or dissemination of research results. The researchers must be highly qualified and well merited within their respective fields, and they should be connected to outstanding North American research communities within educational research. In this context, educational research is understood as multidisciplinary or cross-disciplinary fields of research that focus on the aim and content, the organising and arranging as well as results and consequences of education for the individual and for society.

Research visits:

Grants for guest researchers can be awarded for stays in Norway for top North American researchers for a period of no less than one week and no longer than twelve months. The funds will primarily cover documented living costs and added costs of settling in associated with a research visit abroad, but they can also cover parts of the salary costs in connection with such visits. Funding can also cover parts of the salary costs connected with hiring a top North American researcher for a part-time post at a Norwegian R&D institution for a period of up to four years.

Stays for dissemination purposes:

Grants can be awarded to conferences, seminars, workshops and other dissemination activities where North American researchers are central contributors. The activities must contribute to the dissemination of research results from North American research to Norwegian research communities and facilitate international and national cooperation and network building. The grants can cover direct expenses for events and costs connected to keynote speakers as well as publications resulting from events. Applications can be for events which are part of dissemination-related visits of shorter or longer duration, ie. no less than one week, or as part of a research visit of longer duration, ie. no longer than twelve months.
