Support for Events in the fields of synchrotron and neutron-based research

The SYNKNØYT programme is announcing Support for Events for partial funding of events in the fields of synchrotron and neutron-based research. The objective is to promote contact between national and international actors in the programme’s research fields.

Amount of funding presumed available for this call for proposals:

Funding of up to NOK 70 000 is available per event. (NOK 150 000 for Norwegian user meetings for synchrotron and neutron-based research.)

The overall budget framework for this call for proposals is NOK 300 000 per year.

Guidelines and important considerations relevant to all types of applications in this call for proposals:

The Norwegian-language call for proposals is the legally binding version.
The objective of this call for proposals is to support measures that promote the establishment of meeting places.

To be eligible for funding under this call, the event must be of relevance within the scope of the SYNKNØYT programme.

Events that encourage mobilisation and closer ties between national research and innovation groups, including participants on the user segment and/or the public administration, will be viewed in a positive light. Events that serve as a meeting place for the dissemination of research results and knowledge, the development of methods and/or the generation of new projects will also be weighted positively.

In connection with events funded under this call, the Research Council must be permitted to employ profiling measures such as the inclusion of its logo on invitation materials or the presentation of the SYNKNØYT programme in various contexts.

Please describe the following in the grant application:

  • How does the event reflect the SYNKNØYT programme’s priorities?
  • Who is the target group for the event?
  • How will the event promote closer ties between various R&D actors in the university and university college sector, the research institute sector, trade and industry, and other interested parties?
  • To what extent will the event have an international profile?
  • To what extent will the event promote participation in international policy and research cooperation within the scope of the programme?
  • To what extent will the event help to disseminate research results to various target groups at a coordinated level?
