NOK 2 million is available for CGIAR fellowships supporting young scientists visit at one of the 15 CGIAR centres.

Guidelines and important considerations relevant to all types of applications in this call for proposals:

CGIAR fellowship.

CGIAR is a global research partnership for a food-secure future. CGIAR science is dedicated to reducing poverty, enhancing food and nutrition security, and improving natural resources and ecosystem services. Its research is carried out by 15 CGIAR centers in close collaboration with hundreds of partners, including national and regional research institutes, civil society organizations, academia, development organizations and the private sector. The objective is to strengthen the quality and the international focus in Norwegian agricultural research and to return experience from international research to Norwegian research institutions. It is possible to apply for travel support and to cover additional costs by staying abroad.

Priority will be given to young scientists - PhD students and Post-doctoral fellows - at Norwegian institutions to apply for staying at one of the CGIAR centres for up to 12 months, but not shorter than 3 months; senior scientists can apply for a shorter stay (up to 3 months).  Wage cost cannot be included in any of the application.

The fellowships can cover travel cost and the additional extra expenses for a shorter stay at one CGIAR centre. The fellowship will not cover wage cost.

All applications must include an invitation letter from the CGIAR institute. If the application is for a PhD the CGIAR institute must confirm that they accept that the PhD student can work at the institute and supervising must be confirmed . A special letter regarding this must be enclosed the application.
