Messages:

A list with the project titles of all applications under processing will be published on the Research Council website.
Please note that the project summary may be forwarded to the referees when they are asked to assess the grant application. The project title and the project summary should therefore not disclose sensitive information.

Objectives:

The NANO2021 programme is the Research Council of Norway’s large-scale research programme on nanotechnology, microtechnology and advanced materials.

The programme aims to enhance the national knowledge base in this technology area to meet high international standards. The programme seeks to develop outstanding knowledge and sustainable solutions based on nanotechnology and advanced materials to meet the needs of trade and industry and society at large. The programme plays a key role in following up the Norwegian Government’s national R&D strategy for nanotechnology for 2012-2021.

The work programme focuses on the following five thematic priority areas:

Nanotechnology, microtechnology and advanced materials for:

  • Thematic priority area 1: applications in the energy sphere;
  • Thematic priority area 2: reducing environmental and climate impacts;
  • Thematic priority area 3: improving health and medical technology;
  • Thematic priority area 4: increasing value creation based on natural resources;
  • Thematic priority area 5: knowledge about different impacts of nanomaterials on health and ecosystems.

This programme/activity normally accepts grant applications from:

Universities, university colleges, research institutes and trade and industry.

Duration:

X

Overall budget:

The programme’s budget in 2017 is approximately NOK 130 million.
