Agreement of Cooperation in Science and Technology between India and Norway (JOINTINDNOR)

Under the Agreement of Cooperation in Science & Technology concluded between Government of India and the Government of Norway, the Department of Science and Technology (DST) of the Government of India and the Research Council of Norway (RCN) have started a programme for joint funding of Indian-Norwegian joint research projects in mutually agreed fields to achieve world-class scientific results. Norwegian funding is part of the RCN INDNOR research programme which is funded from The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

DST and RCN invite Indian and Norwegian scientists / researchers to submit proposals for cooperative research projects in the research field described below. The proposed collaboration should build on and strengthen already on-going research activities in each research group and contribute significant added value to these. Allocations will be based on scientific quality.

This programme/activity normally accepts grant applications from:

Norwegian research institutions (university, university college, research institute or other institution at which research constitutes an important activity)


2010 - 2013

Overall budget:

Up to NOK 6 million from the Research Council of Norway; corresponding allocation from the Department of Science and Technology, India.
