Guidelines and important considerations relevant to all types of applications in this call for proposals:

Funding from the Research Council is targeted towards enabling Norwegian actors to take active part in the strategic planning efforts taking place in the European research arena in order to position and promote Norwegian interests in future ICT-related initiatives. The primary objective is to increase Norwegian participation in Horizon 2020 and other European initiatives.

Who can apply for funding?

Companies, public entities, research institutions, special interest organisations with national impact and groups of these which can coordinate and promote Norwegian ICT interests in the international arena on behalf of national actors.

Funding is available for:

  • Expenses related to travel, meetings and events.
  • Payroll compensation for personnel at universities and university colleges.
  • Hourly rates calculated on the basis of the Research Council’s ordinary rates for companies and research institutes. Salary costs for employees at public universities and university colleges or other public institutions will not be covered.
  • Procurement of external assistance and advisory services.
  • Dissemination and communication activities.
  • Funding will not be granted for activities that are funded under the PES2020 scheme.

Amount of support

The total funding amount will range from NOK 30 000 to NOK 500 000, depending on the size of the project.

The Research Council may cover up to 50 per cent of eligible costs.

The Research Council will only cover costs incurred after the grant application has been submitted, and will disburse the funding in arrears on the basis of documented expenses.

Funding may be granted to projects with a duration of maximum three years.
