ERC Starting Grants are awarded to young, promising researchers (2-7 years after completion of their PhD), with potential to become research leaders and to start their own independent research groups.

Do not send H2020 proposals to the Research Council of Norway, but be aware of the pre-proposal support (PES2020) from the Research Council of Norway.

The call budget for ERC-StG-2018 is 581 mill. euro.

The ERC grants are completely bottom-up and without prioritised areas or disciplines. The three domains are as follows:
• Physical Sciences & Engineering (Panels: PE1 – PE10)

• Life Sciences (Panels: LS1 – LS9)

• Social Sciences & Humanities (Panels: SH1 – SH6)
