Messages:

For CLIMIT Calls:
A list with the project titles of all applications under processing will be published on the Research Council website.

In connection with the application review, the project summary may be forwarded to potential referees when asking whether they can assess the grant application. The project title and project summary should therefore not disclose sensitive information.

Grant proposals will be assessed by independent, impartial and qualified referees. The referees will have access to the entire content of the grant application.

Objectives:

This web site covers the international ACT Call and national Norwegian calls related to the CLIMIT programme.

ACT

Eleven countries are joining forces and making funds available for research and innovation actions related to CO2 Capture, Utilisation and Storage (CCUS). The initiative is called ACT – Accellerating CCS Technologies.

The ambition of ACT is to facilitate the emergence of CCUS via transnational funding aimed at accelerating and maturing CCUS technology through targeted innovation and research activities.

The following countries participate in ACT: France, Germany, Greece, the Netherlands, Norway, Romania, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom, and USA.

Further information can be found on the ACT web-site, www.act-ccs.eu.

CLIMIT

The focus of the CLIMIT programme is on technology related to carbon capture and storage (CCS). The programme is administered jointly by the Research Council and Gassnova, and is targeted towards research, development and demonstration of CCS technology.

The primary objective of the CLIMIT programme is:

  • to contribute to the development of CCS technologies and solutions

The CLIMIT programme has three focus areas with three accompanying performance goals:

  • Early full-scale CCS value chain in Europe;
  • Large-scale storage of CO2 on the Norwegian continental shelf in the North Sea;
  • Future solutions for CCS.

The programme provides funding for activities within all phases of development and commercialisation of new solutions.

This programme/activity normally accepts grant applications from:

Trade and industry, research institutes, universities and university colleges.

Duration:

Open-ended.

Overall budget:

ACT
The budget for the ACT call is 22 to 30 million.

CLIMIT
The budget for the R&D part of the CLIMIT programme (administered by the Research Council) is NOK 92.1 million for 2018. There is, in addition, an open-ended call for proposals at Gassnova, which has an annual budget of approximately NOK 90.4 million for development and demonstration projects.
