Norwegian polar research has been evaluated for the first time. The Research Council is hosting a seminar to launch the evaluation report.

The report of the evaluation of Norwegian polar research will be published on 14 September. It is based on the Research Council’s previous mapping of resources and publication output of Norwegian polar research as well as the responsibilities assigned to the Research Council in Meld. St. 32 (2015–2016) Svalbard, white paper from the Ministry of Justice and Public Security. The evaluation has an international perspective.

The evaluation is accompanied by a bibliometric analysis carried out by the Nordic Institute for Studies in Innovation, Research and Education (NIFU), which takes a close look at Norwegian and international polar research publications, attaching special importance to factors affecting the citation impact of scientific publications related to Svalbard.

Register for the launch seminar here (in Norwegian).

The event will be streamed. Individuals watching the stream can ask questions via email or in the YouTube feed. The event can be viewed on the Research Council website or the Research Council’s YouTube channel.
