The Research Council of Norway puts the limelight on the European Research Council Synergy Grants (SyG) in an information meeting on 3. May.

A Synergy Grant is a project with a budget up to 10€ million for 6 years. It addresses ambitious research questions that can only be answered by the coordinated work of a small group of 2-4 principal investigators.

We are lucky to be joined by Agnes Kulcsar, call coordinator for the SyGs in the ERC Executive Agency, and she will inform about the basics and the expected call in the autumn. Furthermore, professor Mats Carlsson from the University of Oslo will share his experiences with the SyG project "WHOLE SUN". Prof. Carlsson is one of the four PIs in this project and has earlier received funding for an Advanced grant.

Synergy Grants are not ordinary collaborative projects, and all who intend to apply should consider taking part in the meeting. The target group is researchers at Norwegian universities and research institutions, as well as EU-advisors focussing on ERC grants.
