European Joint Programming Initiatives (JPIs)

Under the European joint programming initiatives (JPI), the partners enter into binding cooperation to address challenges of common interest in a specified area of research. The EU and EEA member states are free to choose which JPIs they wish to participate in.

Ten JPIs have been established as of May 2013. Norway participates in all.

JPI – Healthy and productive seas and oceans

About: JPI Demographics addresses the demographic ramifications that the anticipated increase in life expectancy will have for the population of Europe. At present, Norway is participating only as an observer.
