Use of microarray to discover genes controlling Atlantic salmon growth

The salmon aquaculture industry is faced with daily challenges in selection of raw materials for feed, to give performance parameters at low cost. In particular the most expensive ingredient is fish meal which is highly variable in price and quality, and also needs to be partially replaced by plant protein sources. In this project we will find an efficient mechanism to maintain salmon growth, based on knowledge of raw material composition and knowledge of growth regulation upon use of microarray technique s.
