The objective of the scheme for Centres for Environment-friendly Energy Research (FME) is to establish time-limited research centres which conduct concentrated, focused and long-term research of high international calibre in order to solve specific challenges in the field.
The eight initial Centres for Environment-friendly Energy Research (FME) received high marks from the panel of international experts that evaluated them half-way through their period of operation.
The Research Council of Norway’s soon-to-be-concluded programme Clean Energy for the Future (RENERGI) will be handing over many valuable results to its successor. Preparations for the new programme are well underway.
