Research cooperation with Russia and the Western Balkans reviewed
Norwegian cooperation on research and higher education with Russia and the countries of the Western Balkans comprises interesting projects and is characterised by fruitful cooperation. Annual reports for 2009 for the two cooperation programmes focusing on these regions are now available.
The annual reports provide an overview of the status of the programmes and the projects that have received funding. The year 2009 saw the conclusion of the programme period of the Cooperation Programme with the Western Balkans (WESTERNBALKAN), which had run since 2006. The research-oriented activities of the WESTERNBALKAN programme will continue under the Research Council’s major research programme Norway – A Global Partner (NORGLOBAL).
Norwegian activities under the cooperation programmes with Russia and the Western Balkans are jointly administered by the Research Council of Norway and the Norwegian Centre for International Cooperation in Higher Education (SIU).
