Conference in Oslo May 10th: The Next Iraqi Government
May 10th, The Gulf Research Unit (GRU) at the University of Oslo holds this years annual conference, with the title “The Next Iraqi Government”. The subject of the conference will be the situation in Iraq after the recent parliamentary elections.
Central topics include possible government coalitions, as well as regional consequences of the election. The program of the conference can be found

The conference will be held at The University of Oslo, Auditorium No 2, Georg Sverdrup Building (http://www.uio.no/english/map/gaustadblindernnr.html). The conference requires registration in advance. If you wish to participate, please send an e-mail to jon.nordenson@ikos.uio.no before the 30th of April.
The conference is organised by The Gulf Research Unit, a research project based at the Department for Culture Studies and Oriental Languages at the University of Oslo. The project is funded by the PETROSAM research programme, over a period of five years. Participating in the project are researchers from the University of Oslo, as well as from other institutions such as FAFO, SSB, NHH and NUPI. The program's main goal is to create an interdisciplinary network of experts with the purpose of advancing the understanding of political, social, legal, and economic conditions in the resource-rich countries of the Gulf region.
