The list below provides information about selected events arranged by the Research Council of Norway on its own or in collaboration with others. Ten years ago, stem cell research and its potential for cultivating tissue and organs was seen as fascinating but unreal, and there was an ongoing, heated debate on ethics. Where do we stand in 2013?
From: 12.02.2013The fourth conference of the Norwegian Environmental Research Towards 2015(MILJO 2015) programme will encourage dialogue and discussion on interdisciplinary environmental research and environmental conflicts. New research findings from projects under the programme will also be presented.
From: 06.02.2013The potential of and challenges facing Norwegian and international aquaculture are the focus of the upcoming symposium on food from the sea to be hosted by the Norwegian Academy of Science, the Norwegian Academy of Technological Sciences and the Research Council of Norway.

From: 20.11.2012The Nordic eScience Globalisation Initiative (NeGI) is hosting a workshop to discuss how to target an upcoming funding announcement for NOK 40 million. The funds are earmarked for eScience and health issues with particular focus on health registries, biobanks and molecular data.

The theme is “Bridging Partnerships” highlighting the overall purpose; to stimulate scientific collaboration between Norway and the US in research, technology and innovation.
