In the Arctic, the combination of low temperatures and other special conditions creates an entirely unique marine environment. Much of the Arctic's sea life has therefore evolved in different directions than in other marine areas, resulting in many organisms that have unique characteristics. They provide opportunities for finding bioactive materials with properties that can help us in the ongoing battle against disease. MabCent will undertake research into bioactive products from these organisms.
