CREATE will carry out research and development to enable innovation of
technology, products and solutions to improve the grow-out phase of marine fish culture - from when the fish is put into the sea to when it is taken to the slaughter plant.
The centre has defined three main research pillars: 1) Equipment and constructions e.g. new materials for aquaculture nets, floating collars on net cages and feeding facilities 2) Operation and handling e.g. feed timing, feed quantities, handling of active nets and equipment etc. 3) Farming intelligence e.g. use of information and production data related to the growth and welfare of the fish, as the basis for achieving better feeding and lighting solutions etc.
