The Norwegian Antarctic Research - NARE 2011 Call

The Research Council of Norway has finalized its evaluation of the NARE (Norwegian Antarctic Research) 2011 call.

The call and evaluation of NARE proposals is done on behalf of the Norwegian Polar Institute. A total of 23 applications were received before the deadline February 16th 2011 with a very broad thematic scope from paleogeology to ecotoxology. Total available amount for this call was NOK 36 million, while the total applied amount of the proposals was NOK 96 million.

The proposals were evaluated by two expert panels, to ensure approproate evaluation of quality and relevance. For some of the proposals it was necessary to support the panels with external expert reviews. A consensus evaluation of each proposal and a final ranking was issued from the panels. The final ranking of the projects has now been sent to the Norwegian Polar Institute for its final conclusion.
