The objective of the research-based evaluation is to investigate whether the National Mammography Screening Programme has fulfilled its intentions and purpose.
Since 1995 nearly 1.5 million Norwegian women have been screened for breast cancer under an ambitious, government-funded mammography screening programme. Now, the Research Council of Norway can finally start its full-scale evaluation of the programme.
The steering committee has now assessed the eleven applications that were received to the deadline 16th of April. Total applied budget was nearly 45 million NOK.
The questions connected to the possibility to allow foreign research institutions to be The Project Owner (formal applicant) for evaluation projects is now settled.
The Project Owner (formal applicant) may be a foreign institution.
