Objectives:

The specialist exchanges under the Cultural Agreement with China aim to establish and expand academic and cultural contact between Chinese and Norwegian individuals and between institutions of education and research.

This programme normally accepts grant applications from:

Specialists or visiting scholars from China to Norway.

Subject fields and thematic priorities:

The specialist exchange covers all fields of education and research, as well as culture and the arts.

What type of funding can be sought:

The IS will cover a daily allowance of NOK 2000 for short visits up to three (3) weeks. Additionally, domestic travel expenses for 2500 can be covered.

Travel expenses to and from Norway must be covered by the visitor and all visitors must have a valid travel insurance during their stay in Norway.

Application deadline and procedure:

Applications for short-term scholarships should be sent directly to the IS for assessment and reach us at least three (3) months prior to the estimated date of arrival. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

The following documents must be attached:

• A letter of invitation from a relevant Norwegian institution
• A letter of recommendation from the home institution
• A CV for the visiting scholar/specialist

Scholarship holders are required to fill in and return a short report form describing the professional benefit of the stay in Norway within one month of returning to China.
