Hovedformålet med disse norsk-russiske seminarene er å utvide forskningssamarbeidet mellom Norge og Russland for å oppnå enda mer effektiv og miljøvennlig utvikling av petroleumsressursene. Det er også et formål å få flere prosjekter i porteføljen med norsk-russisk samarbeid.
