EEA –Romanian Research Programme

The EEA – Romanian Research Programme is currently under elaboration. A programme plan proposal is currently being evaluated. Once the programme proposal has been approved, a Programme Agreement will be signed and preparations will be made for the launch of the programme.

Norwegian research institutions are encouraged to prepare for the upcoming call by establishing contact with potential partners in Romania and registering in the Partner Search Database

Implementing Agency: Executive Agency for Higher Education, Research, Development and Innovation Funding (UEFISCDI)

Programme size: 20 mill EUR (150 mill NOK) The majority of this sum will be allocated to research projects which will be selected on the basis of calls for proposals and evaluation by independent, international experts.

  • Renewable energy to fight climate change
  • Health and food safety
  • Environmental protection and management

Interdisciplinary approaches and projects addressing the societal challenges in the thematic areas from the perspectives of social sciences and humanities will also be eligible for funding.

Time line

• The main call is due to be announced in the spring of 2013.
• An information and brokerage event is foreseen in connection with the launch of the call in Romania

Details on funding (project max. size, level of contribution, funding for preparation costs, ect.) will be published once the Programme Agreement has been signed.
