Researcher recruitment and mobility

The European Partnership for Researchers (EPR) is one of five European initiatives aimed at enhancing researcher recruitment and creating a competitive and attractive European Research Area. The Ministry of Education and Research has given the Research Council responsibility for following up these efforts in Norway, in part through the activities outlined below. The schemes are open to all researchers regardless of country of residence.

International scholarships

RCN administers scholarships targeted towards international researchers, students and artists who are interested in a research stay abroad. Support is provided as individual scholarships, mobilitygrants for incoming and outgoing researchers.

EURAXESS

RCN is the coordinator of EURAXESS Norway, which is part of the EU collaborative initiative EURAXESS – Researchers in Motion. EURAXESS encompasses a number of initiatives to promote researcher recruitment and career opportunities, as well as mobility

Marie Curie Actions (MCA)

MCA is a funding instrument for researcher training and mobility under the “People” Programme of the EU Seventh Framework Programme. RCN is the main contact and facilitator of MCA in Norway and provides compensatory funding for Norwegian hosts.

Charter and Code

The EU Charter and Code were introduced to improve researchers`working conditions and career opportunities. The principles of the Charter and Code are to be adhered to in projects funded by RCN and are incorporated into relevant calls and agreements
