Department for Research Institute Policy
Director: Christen Krogh
The department carries out activities relating to the Research Council’s strategic responsibility to develop the independent research institutes as suppliers of research-based knowledge of high calibre and relevance for the use of trade and industry, the public administration and society in general.
Activities include input on research policy about and for the sector, including financial framework conditions nationally and within the EU.
The department also has the strategic and administrative responsibility for the basic state funding of independent research institutes and the STIM-EU stimulation scheme to encourage independent research institutes to seek greater participation in the EU Framework Programme.
The department works to increase knowledge about the independent institute sector throughout the Research Council at large. Tasks include drawing up key figure overviews, annual reports, portfolio analyses, and statistics and reports. In addition, the department is responsible for institute evaluations and assessment of research-policy issues for this sector.
