Regional cooperation
The Research Council provides information and advisory services at the regional level and cooperates closely with Innovation Norway and the Industrial Development Corporation of Norway (SIVA).
Programme for Regional R&D and Innovation (VRI)
The VRI programme is designed to promote knowledge development, innovation and value creation in the regions. The programme helps users to find the best targeted research expertise and facilitates the exchange of experience between various institutions and companies.
Participation under the VRI programme may lay the foundation for applications for support from regional research funds or national programmes at the Research Council.

Regional research funds
These funds are intended to bolster research capacity and competitiveness at the regional level. The funds will support research projects initiated by private or public enterprises and promote development of dynamic, competitive research communities in all counties.
More information will be published once the regional research funds are established.
Regional representatives
The Research Council’s 12 regional representatives provide regional players with information and advice about the Research Council’s industry-oriented measures and facilitate cooperation between companies and R&D institutions.
