In its second issue of the year Bladet Forskning turns the spotlight on the best and brightest of Norway's young researchers. Some of them were recently honoured at the Norwegian Contest for Young Scientists, which is carried out under the auspices of the Research Council's Proscientia project.
The magazine also presents a course in dissemination techniques for doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows within the natural sciences. In addition the issue includes articles on the unusual connection between gamma-ray bursts, mammography and airport security, and a large-scale project, coordinated in Norway, for recording health statistics in 20 African and Asian countries.
