Workshops in Washington D.C.

The Norwegian Embassy in Washington D.C. hosted its Forth Annual Forum Advisory Board Meeting from October 31 - November 3. The forum included several seminars and workshops.

The Research Council of Norway played an important role in many of the workshops, where topics such as petroleum research, aquaculture and climate research were discussed. An important part of the meeting is to follow up Norway's Strategy for Scientific and Technological Cooperation with North-America, initiated by the Royal Norwegian Ministry of Education and Research in 2004. The Research Council of Norway has been charged with special responsibility for the follow-up and implementation of this strategy.

The Director-General of the Research Council of Norway, Arvid Hallén, held a keynote presentation during the conference. Reports and presentations from the forum will be posted on the Embassy's website, www.norway.org/restech.
