New directors have been appointed to the Division for Administration and the Director General's staff. Sønneve Ølnes and Randi Søgnen will be assuming their duties in the course of the autumn.
The two will take over after Per Wøien and Svein Erik Høst, respectively.

Sønneve Ølnes will be starting her work in the Division for Administrative Affairs on 1 October. The division provides joint administrative services to the Research Council. The division consists of five departments: Planning and Finance, Communication, Legal Affairs, HR, Documentation and Joint Services, and IT.
Ølnes comes from the Institute of Transport Economics, where she has held the position of Deputy Managing Director and where she served as acting Managing Director for two years. Ølnes has extensive experience as a researcher, project manager and executive and has worked with contract negotiations, budget processes and dissemination of research findings, among other tasks.

Randi Søgnen will be joining the Director General's staff on 1 November. Her unit is responsible for organising and coordinating key processes relating to strategic development, research-policy advisory activities, budget input to the government ministries, and research-policy communication activities. The staff is also responsible for developing common guidelines for R&D administration and enhancing the knowledge base for strategic research activities.
Søgnen currently holds the position of Deputy Director of the Norwegian Institute for Studies in Innovation, Research and Education (NIFU STEP), where she has also worked as a researcher and research manager. Søgnen has been the editor-in-chief of the journal Forskningspolitikk (Research Policy).
