The Research Council welcomes you to its annual Evening of Excellence event in Oslo Concert Hall on Tuesday, 28 September, at 6:00 pm.
This year’s programme offers a peek into varied and exciting Norwegian research and innovation, interspersed with a variety of entertainment.
A tase of the programme:
- Kjetil Trædal Thorsen, Professor and Director of the architectural firm Snøhetta, will discuss architecture and research. Snøhetta’s commissions include the design for the new Oslo Opera House and the Alexandria Library.
- Vibeke Hauge of the company SquareHead Technology will offer insights into new technology for audio zooming.
- Researcher Åslaug Ommundsen of the Centre for Medieval Studies at the University of Bergen will present a story of written fragments from the Middle Ages in Norway.
- Historian and author Thomas Brandt will take a look at the development of the Norwegian University of Science and Technology over the past 100 years.
- Lars Inge Solhaug of the company AR-Lab Norway AS will talk about new technology for augmented reality. How to make the invisible visible.
- Minister of Research Tora Aasland will be presenting the Research Council's Award for Outstanding Research.

The event will be held in Norwegian. The programme will be followed by refreshments in the vestibule of the Concert Hall.
