New rules limit size of project descriptions

A technical feature added to the Research Council’s electronic grant application form will now automatically limit the size of the project descriptions that can be uploaded. It will no longer be possible to upload an attachment that exceeds the page total stipulated in the individual call for proposals or application requirements. The new feature will be put into operation for all grant proposals submitted for the 17 February 2010 deadline.

A standard page maximum of ten pages has been set for project descriptions for Researcher Projects, Personal Doctoral Research Fellowships, Personal Post-doctoral Research Fellowships, User-driven Innovation Projects (BIP) and Competence-building Projects with User Involvement (KMB).

Project descriptions that exceed the page total stipulated for each call for proposals will not be uploaded, and an error message will be generated. Requirements relating to page format, font size, margins and spacing must also be complied with.

The Research Council recommends that grant applicants upload their project descriptions well in advance of the application deadline to ensure that the attachment meets the established requirements. It will still be possible to replace attachments with an updated version at any time prior to the expiry of the deadline.
