Forskning magazine no. 1/2011: Presenting key people
In the past several months, the new Chair of the Executive Board and two new division directors have assumed their positions at the Research Council. Readers can get to know Ingvild Myhre, Fridtjof Unander and Jesper Simonsen through articles in the most recent issue of Forskning magazine.

The issue also introduces readers to the Research Council’s Lars Horn, who heads the Marine Board of the European Science Foundation.
In spring 2011, the Norwegian Centres of Excellence (SFF) scheme will be in focus, with a call for proposals for establishing new centres from 2013. Forskning magazine offers a look at the call and the SFF scheme itself. The issue also features a piece on the Centre for Molecular Biology and Neuroscience (CMBN), which over its eight-year history as an SFF centre has made great strides in enhancing understanding of conditions such as stroke, Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease.

Forskning magazine offers news and features about Norwegian research and the initiatives and activities of the Research Council. The magazine also focuses on the internationalisation of Norwegian research as well as the debate on strategies, plans and decisions concerning Norwegian research in general. Four issues a yearForskning is issued (in Norwegian) four times a year. Selected articles from the magazine are translated into English on a regular basis and published on the Research Council website.
